Meanwhile animated gif tumbleweed4/16/2024 Since PowerDVD20 no longer has 3D capabilities, you would need to use PowerDVD19 or older. People that have seen it, (I have not) have said that the 2D-3D conversion done by PowerDVD is very close. As for the Teranex, it's capabilities have been mulled over for many years. The real plus is that there is no tunnel of bright light from the center of the screen like in high-gain reflective screens. At seat level, I get about a 1.8 brightness increase, which is still more than just about any screen out there. the light shines brightest back to the source-so if your projector is ceiling mounted, the brightest image is shining back toward the ceiling. The increase in brightness is not 2.8, because it is a retro-reflective screen, ie. I have a 160" 2.8 that I got many years, and it's like having a mini-imax screen in my basement. Good luck on finding a big High Power screen. Revisiting older threads of the 2010's I'm still surprised how many home theater users jumped onto the 3D bandwagon train back then, but apparently lost a lot of interest in the meantime.Ĭan't help the feeling that unless you grew up with Viewmaster and stereoscopic images (to create or condition a lifelong affection for stereoscopic reproduction) you run out of 3D enthusiasm in the long run. And of course for a golden opportunity to secure a used Teranex 3D444 (2D > 3D conversion) for an affordable price.Īnd - again and again - there is the ultimate cheap solution for transforming (moving parts) of your 2D collection into 3D by going the unorthodox way to purchase an eye-patch for one of your eyes. I guess I'd qualify as a "3D prepper" like many other 3D aficionados posting here, securing 3D Blu-rays (still haven't watched them all.), looking at alternative front projectors that provide 3D support and a larger Da-Lite High Power 2.8 screen (I use the current small one exclusively for 3D).
